If you've ever been the object of obsession (when you didn't want to be) or if you've ever been stalked, the new trailer for Spiral (via Yahoo Movies) is going to bother you. The teaser, which stars a very creepy Joel Moore and a very innocent Amber Tamblyn, focuses on a certain sad sack character, a loner who turns out to be a reclusive psychopath. Both Moore and Tamblyn look like they'll rock their roles. Spiral, co-directed by Moore and Adam Green, hits theaters on February 8.
Paramount is banking on a huge success with J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Trek XI. But they're not relaunching a franchise just for a one-shot. If Anton Yelchin -- Trek XI's new Chekov -- is to be believed, all the actors are signed to three picture deals.
That certainly makes sense, but how many adventures can they cram into the first year of Kirk's command of the NCC-1701? After all, the Original Series is not being ret-conned, so at a certain point it's simply not going to be realistic to shove more major motion picture worthy events into the small sliver of unaccounted continuity they've got open to them.
Then what will they do? Will the sequels take place between seasons of the Original Series? If so, that's problematic. Do they expect us to buy into the idea that the new actors are younger versions of the Enterprise crew? Or will they simply ret-con the Original Series entirely?
And what about the name? Screenwriter Robert Orci likes to call Star Trek XI Star Trek: Zero. That doesn't exactly lend itself to Roman numeralization.

]]>His portrayal of the sadistic dentist, Orin Scrivello, helped make this charming, horror musical an instant cult classic. He played docs before but this one is half biker, half Elvis and one hundred percent hilarious as he gleefully sings about inflicting pain on his poor patients.

Only a crazy mind like Martin's could create a love story this funny. As the writer of the screenplay, Martin sets up the jokes and then as the actor he knocks um down. He plays a mad scientist, Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr, who falls in love with two women: one who's a beauty and one who's a brain. Literally, a brain.

After audiences didn't respond to his dramatic work in Pennies from Heaven, Martin was going for laughs. (The film's tagline is "Laugh ... or I'll blow your lips off.") As Rigby Reardon, private eye, he pulls out all the stops as a cross-dressing detective, in this film-noir send up. Vincent Canby of the New York Times said Martin was "...a man blessed with a great sense of timing, who is also self-effacing enough to meet the most cockeyed demands of the material."
